Hello, I'm Aiden. I graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor's in Physics. During my undergraduate studies, I studied a wide range of Math and Physics, and fell in love with understanding and explaining the subjects, rather than simply memorizing how to use them. I participated in research in both Astrophysics and in Mathematics, including work involving exoplanets and Complex Dynamics. My mathematics research led to me co-authoring a paper in Complex dynamics. These experiences give me a strong foundation in physics, mathematics, and problem solving that i enjoy sharing with students.
While in the last 2 years of my Physics degree, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for College Physics Laboratory, teaching sections of 30 undergraduates at a time. I taught the students concepts and principles in physics, and helped them to understand and carry out experiments and understand their results. I also held office hours to help students with homework, lab reports, and understanding the subject and develop problem solving, as well as managing grading their assignments. My approach to teaching is to understand the student and their individual needs, identify where the student is getting stuck, missing a foundational concept, having difficulty interpreting a problem, or simply not knowing where to begin. From there i will work through the underlying ideas with the student and use examples and practice problems to prepare them to be able to apply the content independently and confidently. My goal is to help the student develop an understanding and appreciation for the topic and develop problem solving skills they can use to succeed. I would be happy to work with students who need help strengthening their fundamentals as well as students who want a deeper conceptual understanding of math or physics.
