I bring nearly two decades of experience as a certified special education teacher, specializing in behavior intervention, life skills, and academic support for neurodivergent learners. I hold a degree in education and have spent the majority of my career supporting students with emotional and behavioral needs in both inclusive and self-contained settings. My background includes designing individualized interventions, leading classroom instruction across all four core subjects, and helping students develop coping strategies that extend far beyond the classroom.

Over the years, I've worked with students ranging from K to 12th grade, including gifted learners with autism, students with ADHD, and children with trauma histories. I understand how to meet students where they are and build both skills and confidence, using structured routines, engaging content, and a relationship-based approach. My teaching style is patient, consistent, and rooted in the belief that every student can succeed when given the right tools and support.

Whether your child needs help catching up academically, learning how to manage emotions, or just building self-esteem through small academic wins, I’m here to help. My goal is not only to improve performance but to empower students to believe in themselves again.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I am a certified Special Education teacher in Texas with over 18 years of experience supporting students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). I hold a 4–8 Generalist teaching certificate and have worked in self-contained behavior support units, inclusion settings, and life skills classrooms across multiple grade levels. I am trained in and have actively used evidence-based methods such as PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), TEACCH (Treatment and Education of Autistic and Related Communication Handicapped Children), visual schedules, task analysis, and social stories. I have also collaborated closely with ABA therapists, speech-language pathologists, and occupational therapists to support sensory needs, communication development, and behavior regulation. In my current role, I write and implement Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and I am certified in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) for de-escalation and safety. I have extensive experience helping both verbal and nonverbal students build independence, develop social-emotional skills, and succeed in general education environments when appropriate. My approach is structured, trauma-informed, and rooted in compassion, with an emphasis on building trust and creating predictable, supportive routines that empower neurodivergent students to thrive.

I have worked extensively with 4th–6th graders, providing individualized instruction in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. My classroom experience includes supporting diverse learners, including students with behavioral or academic challenges. I focus on building confidence, academic growth, and lifelong learning skills in a supportive and structured environment.

Special Needs

Special Needs

I am a certified Special Education teacher in the state of Texas with over 18 years of experience working with students who have a wide range of special needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, emotional disturbance, intellectual disabilities, and learning disabilities. I hold a 4–8 Generalist teaching certification, and my classroom experience spans behavior support units, life skills programs, and inclusive general education settings. I am trained in evidence-based practices such as PECS, TEACCH, visual schedules, social stories, and task analysis. I am also certified in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) and have written and implemented Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) for students with complex behavioral profiles. My work often includes collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, diagnosticians, and families, to support both academic progress and social-emotional growth. In every setting, I prioritize structure, routine, sensory awareness, and trauma-informed care to create a safe and engaging learning environment. Whether supporting students with mild learning challenges or those requiring intensive behavioral and communication support, my goal is to meet each learner where they are and help them grow toward independence and confidence.
