I earned a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Houston and currently teach physics at the college level. I have more than six years of teaching and tutoring experience as a college physics professor, university lecturer, graduate teaching assistant, high school physics teacher, and private tutor. Throughout my career, I have taught and tutored more than 500 high school and undergraduate students with a wide range of academic backgrounds and learning needs. I can help students with high school and AP Physics, algebra-based and calculus-based college physics, mechanics, electricity and magnetism, waves, optics, thermodynamics, and modern physics. I also tutor algebra, calculus, Python programming, numerical methods, data analysis, graphing, NumPy, Matplotlib, and computational physics. My experience teaching both laboratory and lecture courses allows me to connect mathematical equations with physical concepts, experiments, and practical applications.
During the first lesson, I identify the student’s current understanding, specific difficulties, course requirements, and academic goals. I then adapt each lesson to the student’s learning level and explain challenging concepts using diagrams, everyday examples, mathematical reasoning, and carefully selected practice problems. I work through problems step by step at first, then guide students as they solve similar problems independently so that they develop confidence and lasting problem-solving skills. I can help with concept review, homework guidance, laboratory calculations, test and exam preparation, and strengthening the mathematical foundations needed for physics. My goal is not simply to help students obtain an answer, but to help them understand why each step works and become more independent learners.
