Math success begins with confidence, and building that confidence is my specialty! I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science and a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT). With over 14 years of experience in mathematics education, instructional coaching, and educational consulting, I bring a wealth of knowledge, proven instructional strategies, and a passion for helping students succeed. My professional experience includes serving as a mathematics department chair, instructional coach, and mathematics consultant, working with middle and high school students and educators.
I specialize in middle school mathematics, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, and ACT Math preparation. My teaching experience includes classroom instruction, individualized tutoring, small-group intervention, and developing targeted instructional plans. I use diagnostic assessments to identify learning gaps, break challenging concepts into manageable steps, and provide engaging, personalized instruction. Whether a student struggles with basic math skills, needs support mastering algebraic concepts, or wants to improve test performance, I tailor each session to their unique needs and learning pace.
What distinguishes me is my proven ability to produce measurable results. Through my mathematics consulting and instructional leadership, I have helped schools achieve significant improvements in student proficiency and academic growth, including helping increase Algebra I proficiency from 15% to over 44%. My philosophy is simple: every student can learn mathematics when given the right tools, encouragement, and instruction. I don’t just teach students how to solve problems; I help them understand the reasoning behind the mathematics, develop independence, and build the confidence to succeed long after our sessions end.
