I am currently a senior at the University of Texas at San Antonio, studying Computer Science with a concentration in Data Science and pursuing a minor in Mathematics (GPA 3.97). My passion for both mathematics and computer science has driven me to continue my studies beyond graduation, as I plan to stay an extra year to earn a second bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. I have also conducted research in related fields and am in the process of publishing a paper, which has further deepened my understanding and appreciation of these subjects.
My tutoring and teaching experience spans several years and a variety of settings. At the UTSA Mathematics Department, I served as a supplemental instructor where I led group sessions with 5–15 students as well as one-on-one and virtual tutoring sessions. In this role, I supported students in courses such as College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus I, and Calculus II, focusing on breaking down challenging concepts into approachable steps. I also worked at Kumon, where I tutored younger students in math, reading, writing, and pronunciation, while also assisting with grading. Additionally, through GO Tutor Corps, I provided virtual tutoring for K–12 students in both math and reading.
My goal as a tutor is to create a supportive environment where students not only improve their skills but also develop confidence in their abilities. I encourage students to become independent thinkers by guiding them toward solutions in a way that strengthens both understanding and problem-solving skills. Over time, I have developed a variety of approaches to adapt to each student’s needs and learning style, always aiming to make the process both productive and enjoyable.
