I graduated above standards at the Defense Language Institute of the Presidio of Monterey, California where I was immersed for sixty-three weeks in a target-language-only classroom.
My career in the military was very writing intensive requiring clear, concise, professional English writing in an operational environment. Learning this approach to writing and proofreading hundreds of operational reports coupled with a long term love and development of creative writing and proofreading has given me a lot of tools to tweak and yet maintain the spirit of the writing.
