Texas State University - San Marcos (Business Management)
I am currently a Junior at Texas State University while I work on my Undergraduate Degree in Business Management with a Coaching Minor. I am finishing my first season as a manager for the Texas State Women's Basketball Team, where I conduct practices and work with individuals on specific skills.
I have worked with people of all ages at various levels of experience and skill. My specialties range from goal keep in soccer, basketball defense, and shot-put/discus, but I feel confident I could provide training in a wide range of other areas such as: basketball shooting technique, breaking down the offense, and soccer defense. I have helped players go from 20% free-throw shooting to 70% in a single season.
I strive to find what motivates my students and I believe that encouragement and support make some of the strongest players. My goal is to help every athlete and student reach their maximum potential. Positive attitude and self-esteem achieved through sports translates to other aspects of education as well. I offer tutoring in non-sports related areas such as: Speech, American History, and World History. I am here to help every individual no matter age or what level they are at. I want to help you achieve your level of success. I am currently a Junior at Texas State University while I work on my Undergraduate Degree in Business Management with a Coaching Minor. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have worked at the collegiate level of basketball with a team that is on its way to a conference tournament. I have assisted in conducting practices including, leading one-on-one's or even the entire practice. I can teach advanced defense and proper shooting-techniques. I can take a 20% free-throw average to 70% or better. I work equally with both men and women because I have a passion and understanding of the sport.
I ran the 800 meter and threw shot put and discus in high school. Shot put and discus are my specialty. My senior year I went to state in discus and placed 6th in 1A. Track and field is something that required work and determination and I hope to build the confidence needed in a person to succeed in any event they choose to compete in.
