Hello! My name is Ella, and I’m a college student at Texas State University studying English and Art, with plans to become an English teacher and professor. I have a strong passion for teaching and several years of experience working with students of many ages and skill levels.
For the past four years, I’ve worked as a swim instructor, teaching both children and adults and adapting my instruction to meet each student’s individual needs. I’ve also worked as an intern teacher for Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts elementary art classes, where I helped guide students through creative projects with encouragement, hands-on support, and personalized feedback. Additionally, I served as a camp counselor for the Texas School of the Arts summer camp, leading and supervising daily fine arts activities—including painting, theater, dance, and music—for campers ages 10–12.
I have a strong background in the fine arts, having attended Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts in high school and spending my first year of college at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. My passion lies in combining writing and art through storytelling and illustration. I have a published illustrated short story on Amazon and have also been published in literary and art magazines such as FNews Magazine and The Calliope Journal. Beyond English and writing, I have a deep love for painting and drawing.
I truly enjoy teaching and always strive to be patient, encouraging, and supportive, no matter a student’s level. I’m excited to work with you and help you grow in confidence and skill!
