I have been a Center Assistant/Reading Tutor at Kumon, as well as a teacher's assistant/intern at a local elementary school through a program called Ready, Set, Teach! (this is how I received my teacher's assistant certification). I have also been a teacher's assistant at a summer school program for elementary-age students. Last summer, I was a Teaching Fellow with Breakthrough Central Texas, teaching middle school English and mentoring students.
I love to find ways to meet each student where they are at, and to get creative in order to get them where they need to be.
