I’m Marianna! I am a graduate of West Texas A&M with a bachelors of science in Biology and a minor in exercise sciences. I took a variety of psychology classes as well as a fully completed behavioral technicians training course that helped me to become more knowledgeable in human behavior and behavioral analysis. In college, one of the most imperative things I became aware of was how to recognize the various ways in which people learn. This helped me to really come to respect the professors I came across that were able to maintain a versatile teaching style and who also showed interest in finding what worked best for their students. I have always tried to do the same for others who I’ve tutored that are willing to do their best in order to learn.
At the end of my freshman year of college, a couple of my professors recommended me for a job as a Peer Mentor, because they believed I had a great work ethic regarding my education and a determination to not only better myself, but the other students around me as well. Through this program I became certified as a level 2 tutor and provided services to students in speech, biology, college algebra and English composition. I also assisted my supervisors in curriculum development of a First Year Seminar class which helped students to become organized, learn better management skills and to how also apply themselves to all general studies basic courses.
I strongly believe any individual is capable of learning something new. Knowledge is the key to opening up opportunities throughout life and I thoroughly enjoy helping people and their families through those moments.
