Hello, my name is Jinah and I originally from Seoul, South Korea. I am a native Korean and have lived in the U.S. for eight years. I am a bilingual (Korean and English). I have over 25 years of teaching experience in Korean and ESL (English as a Second Language). Teaching is my true passion and a calling, and I love to share my mother tongue to people who are interested in learning! I majored in English Language Education for my B.A., and TESOL (Teaching English to Second Other Language Speakers for my M.A. I have been teaching English and Korean over 25 years both in South Korea and the U.S.A.

I have been teaching English to ESL and EFL students who are from many different countries. I am currently employed at Saint Mary's University in IEP (Intensive English Program) as an ESL instructor and have been working at this school for four years. In addition, I am also working for Northwest Vista college as an ESL instructor. Furthermore, I have been teaching Korean at UTSA (University of Texas at San Antonio) KKACSA( Korean American Culture Center in San Antonio) since I came to the U.S.A. I have been tutoring Korean as well in many different ages and settings. It has been a very rewarding job to teach my native language, and have been proud of being Korean as well.

Before I came to the U.S., I had worked as an EFL instructor to Korean learners and had been a manager at an English institution. Even though English is my second language, it helps me teach English in different methods to ESL learners.

Kind, Helpful & Patient

Jinah is so patient and has a wonderful way of teaching. Even after only a couple lessons, I'm so excited to continue these sessions with her. I strongly recommend her to anyone serious about Korean. She also provides very useful recommendations and resources for furthering an education in Korean. :)

Amazing!

I have been getting weekly lessons from Jinah for about three months now and she is amazing. She is extremely patient, and has an uncanny ability to find small nuances in your pronunciation and spelling. The lessons are also very enjoyable and I look forward to them every week. Experienced Korean Language Tutor

My 8 year-old daughter is taking Korean language lessons with Jinah and has made amazing progress in just 4 sessions. Jinah is experienced, professional, organized and very friendly. She comes prepared with a lesson plan for each session and provides a written transcript of the session afterwards, which my daughter can study throughout the week. She also gives homework and provides handouts and links to videos and songs to supplement learning. We have tried 3-4 Korean tutors through different agencies and Jinah is by far the best teacher. Highly recommend!

Jinah has been teaching me Korea for a little over half a year now and I love every session we have! She is super funny and knowledgable and each class seems to fly by.
