With 20 years in education—teaching 7th grade ELA, college-level ESL, and English in China, plus working as a middle school counselor and college success coach—I now homeschool my two daughters, ages 5 and 9. We are a Classical Homeschooling Family! I have a Generalist certification in grades 1-8, with special certifications in English, Reading, Social Studies, GT, and ESL. I also have 2 years of experience as a school counselor and personal experience living abroad and learning Mandarin.

If typical classroom reading instruction hasn't worked for your child, let's take the Phonics approach. My family started the Classical Homeschool adventure this year, and our soon-to-be first grader is now reading at a 4th grade level!
