Hello! My name is Carla, and I am a certified ELAR 4–8 teacher with a passion for helping students grow in reading, writing, and overall confidence in English Language Arts. I specialize in reading comprehension, vocabulary development, essay writing, grammar, STAAR preparation, and critical thinking skills. I understand that many students struggle with confidence in ELA, so I focus on creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes while they learn. My tutoring style is patient, interactive, and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I believe learning should feel achievable and empowering, not overwhelming.
As a classroom teacher, I work daily with middle school students in both group and one-on-one settings. I have experience helping students improve their writing structure, reading fluency, comprehension skills, and test-taking strategies.
