I have been tutoring and teaching mathematics since 2008, giving me over 18 years of experience helping students build confidence and improve their skills. I earned a B.S. in Mathematics with a minor in Communication Arts and later completed an M.S. in Applied Mathematics. My background allows me to tutor a wide range of math subjects, including developmental math, elementary algebra, intermediate algebra, college algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, geometry, pre-calculus, GED math preparation, and applied math topics.

My tutoring experience began in a community college tutoring center, where I worked with college students in developmental math and other subjects. I later tutored at a private university tutoring center, working with both college students and high school students in Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Math Models. I also founded and operated a private tutoring business, where I worked with students one-on-one and helped connect students with academic support.

In addition to tutoring, I have classroom teaching experience at both the high school and college levels. I have taught Algebra II, Algebra II Pre-AP, developmental college math, culinary math, and GED math. My teaching philosophy is rooted in adaptability and empowerment. I meet students at their current level, adjust my explanations to their learning style, and help them see that even difficult problems can be broken down into steps they are capable of solving.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have over 18 years of experience tutoring mathematics, including extensive work with Algebra 1 students in both one-on-one and academic support settings. I have helped high school, college, and GED students strengthen their understanding of linear equations, inequalities, graphing, factoring, systems of equations, exponents, and word problems. My approach is patient and step-by-step, focusing on identifying where a student is getting stuck and explaining concepts in a way that fits their learning style. I help students build confidence by showing them that Algebra 1 problems can be broken into manageable pieces.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I have over 18 years of experience tutoring mathematics, including Algebra 2 in both one-on-one and classroom settings. I have taught Algebra II and Algebra II Pre-AP at the high school level and have also helped college and GED students strengthen the algebra skills needed for higher-level math. My experience includes topics such as functions, factoring, rational expressions, radicals, exponentials, logarithms, systems of equations, complex numbers, and word problems. My approach is patient and step-by-step, helping students connect new Algebra 2 concepts to skills they already understand.
GED

GED

I have over 18 years of experience tutoring mathematics and have taught GED math through an adult education program. I have helped adult learners review foundational skills, algebra, geometry, word problems, ratios, percentages, and test-style problem solving. My approach is patient, practical, and confidence-building, especially for students who may feel anxious about returning to math after time away from school. I focus on breaking problems into clear steps so students can strengthen both their math skills and their test-taking confidence.
GRE

GRE

I have over 18 years of experience tutoring mathematics and hold an M.S. in Applied Mathematics. I can help GRE students prepare for the quantitative reasoning section, including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, data analysis, word problems, ratios, percentages, and test-taking strategies. My approach focuses on identifying weak areas, reviewing the underlying concepts, and practicing efficient problem-solving methods. I help students build both accuracy and confidence so they can approach GRE math questions with a clear strategy.
SAT Math
