I have been tutoring and teaching mathematics since 2008, giving me over 18 years of experience helping students build confidence and improve their skills. I earned a B.S. in Mathematics with a minor in Communication Arts and later completed an M.S. in Applied Mathematics. My background allows me to tutor a wide range of math subjects, including developmental math, elementary algebra, intermediate algebra, college algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, geometry, pre-calculus, GED math preparation, and applied math topics.
My tutoring experience began in a community college tutoring center, where I worked with college students in developmental math and other subjects. I later tutored at a private university tutoring center, working with both college students and high school students in Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Math Models. I also founded and operated a private tutoring business, where I worked with students one-on-one and helped connect students with academic support.
In addition to tutoring, I have classroom teaching experience at both the high school and college levels. I have taught Algebra II, Algebra II Pre-AP, developmental college math, culinary math, and GED math. My teaching philosophy is rooted in adaptability and empowerment. I meet students at their current level, adjust my explanations to their learning style, and help them see that even difficult problems can be broken down into steps they are capable of solving.
