If your child has ever said "I'm just not a math person," I'm here to change that.
I've spent nearly a decade working with middle schoolers, and I can tell you with confidence, every kid can learn math; they just need someone who knows how to meet them where they are.
My path in education started in college, tutoring peers one-on-one in Calculus, Physics, and Chemistry while earning my B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering. That tutoring experience led me to pursue my Texas teaching certification in math and science. Before taking my own classroom, I spent nearly five years as a specialized instructional aide supporting 5th through 8th graders across math, science, and English — giving me deep insight into how students at this age think, struggle, and grow.
For the past five years I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math in San Antonio. I know the Texas TEKS inside and out, I know what STAAR actually tests, and I know exactly where middle school math tends to break down for students.
My approach is anything but one-size-fits-all. I use research-based strategies to identify not just what a student doesn't know, but how they learn best — then I adjust in real time. Every session starts with where your child actually is, not where the textbook says they should be.
Whether your child is preparing for STAAR, building toward Algebra, or just needs math to finally make sense — I would love to help.
