I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and have over 17 years of teaching experience working with young learners. I spent 10 years teaching Pre-Kindergarten, where I helped students build strong foundations in early literacy, phonics, and number sense. For the past 7 years, I have served as a lead first-grade teacher, focusing on reading development, writing skills, math fundamentals, and classroom independence. Throughout my career, I have worked with a wide range of learners and have developed a deep understanding of how children learn best at the early elementary level.

My teaching and tutoring approach is structured, supportive, and student-centered. I use proven instructional strategies such as phonics-based reading instruction, guided practice, repetition, and positive reinforcement to help students build confidence and mastery. I regularly analyze student data to identify learning gaps and adjust instruction to meet individual needs. I also emphasize clear expectations, organization, and consistency to help students feel successful and motivated. My experience includes whole-group instruction, small-group intervention, and one-on-one support for students who need additional help.

I have extensive experience working with children ages 4–7 in both classroom and individualized settings. I understand the developmental needs of young learners and strive to make learning engaging, encouraging, and effective. My goal as a tutor is to support students academically while also building their confidence and love for learning, and to partner with families to help each child reach their full potential.
