I'm Jaylin! I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Finance with a focus in Real Estate, and I graduated with an MBA degree with a focus in Finance. In college, I realized the classes I appreciated most weren't necessarily the topics I was most interested in. Rather, it was the professors who made the classes enjoyable. These professors were always engaging and comprehensible when teaching the material in the classroom, and willing to go the extra mile when I asked for additional help or clarification. I try to bring this knowledge to my tutoring approach, and do everything I can to make learning a pleasant experience. I use lesson plans in which I usually introduce the topic in an interesting and creative way, then explicitly teach the material. Afterwards I always ensure time for students to practice the material on their own. Of course, this method can be adjusted based on the subject and student's individual needs.
I have tutored kids, teens, and adults for several years throughout my academic career offering subjects such as elementary math, elementary reading, algebra, geometry, and ACT prep. Throughout highs school, I was a 4.0 honors student and scored a 32 composite score on my ACT with a 31 in math, 35 in science, 29 in English and a 34 in reading. Throughout college, I was a 3.8 honors student in both undergraduate and graduate courses.
I am available to tutor both in person and online in the evenings and on weekends and look forward to watching my students progress and achieve their academic goals.
