I am a passionate, dual-certified special education teacher with over twelve years of experience supporting elementary students and learners with diverse learning needs, including dyslexia and other language-based differences. I hold a master’s degree from the University of North Texas and maintain active teaching certifications in Texas, Washington, and California. I believe that every student is capable of growth when they are taught in a way that aligns with how they learn best, and I am deeply committed to creating an inclusive, supportive learning experience for each child I work with.
Throughout my time in both classroom and one-on-one settings, I have worked with students across a wide range of abilities, backgrounds, and learning profiles. My teaching approach is grounded in the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy, with a strong emphasis on multisensory instruction that engages visual, auditory, and kinesthetic pathways. I am currently in the final stages of my practicum to become a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT), which allows me to provide highly specialized, evidence-based intervention for students with dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, and other learning differences.
When working with students, I prioritize building a safe, respectful, and encouraging environment where they feel comfortable taking risks and making mistakes. I recognize that many students with learning differences have experienced frustration or discouragement in traditional settings, so I tailor my instruction to honor each learner’s strengths while supporting their areas of need. Whether we are working on reading, math, or executive functioning skills, my goal is to provide clear, structured, and individualized support that leads to meaningful progress and increased confidence. I value strong communication with families and look forward to partnering with you to support your child’s growth and success.
