Hello, Jean Jeacques here! I'm currently a college student majoring in Computer Science. Even though I've made it to college, I'll be the first and loudest to admit that school is extremely difficult. I would also be the first to say that I love learning, and an open and interactive teacher is incredibly helpful in the process of learning!
Throughout my academic years, from elementary to college, in both advanced and regularly paced classes, I've learned, retained, and cherished the knowledge gained in classrooms where the teacher took time to answer my questions, to walk me along the path towards a correct answer, to tell me WHY I was wrong rather than shutting me down and moving on. So, when I teach/tutor my friends, family, and classmates, I'm careful to listen to the way they do things, the way they think of things. Rather than hammering in the "correct" way to solve a problem or dissect a poem, I focus on helping them grasp and fundamentally understand the subject at hand, and then I give them work to help cement it in their minds. I have most often tutored 7th grade to 11th grade in one-on-one settings.
