For a little background on myself, I graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2016, with degrees in Chemical Engineering, General Business, and Economics. In addition to having an inexhaustible passion for learning, I embrace opportunities where I can make a positive impact on others through tutoring and/or mentoring. While helping students improve their test scores is one of my tutoring goals, my teaching (and learning) philosophy emphasizes developing a profound appreciation for and intuitive understanding of the subject matter. It is my hope that this approach will not only supplement my students' coursework, but that they will also be equipped to achieve academic success through enhanced logic and critical thinking skills.
Although my full-time work is outside of tutoring, I have always embraced leadership and instructional roles that allow me to break down complex problems and make learning fun. Notably, while an undergraduate student, I voluntarily led small group tutoring sessions for Chemical Processes, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, and Statistics. I also delivered lectures to larger classroom settings (30+ students) under supervised teaching. While finishing my undergraduate education with a 4.0 was rewarding, knowing that my tutoring helped other students pass their classes and improve their grade point average made my accomplishments feel all the more meaningful. I continue to embrace unique tutoring opportunities in the workplace, as I can now also serve as an informal mentor for junior colleagues.
My areas of specialization include Programming Principles (primarily Python); Chemical Engineering topics (Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer); Statistics; R; Economics; and Biology (Cell and Molecular). Further, as a proficient bilingual, I can also provide tutoring for Spanish.
