I am a recent graduate from Georgia Tech in computer science with a GPA of 3.9. I have taken math coursework on Calculus, Differential Equations, Combinatorics and linear algebra, and computer science coursework in Java, Python, C, Machine Learning, Data Structures, and Parallel Computing.

At my high school I was a tutor in Math Honor Society for 3 years and Computer Science Honor Society for 2 years. I tutored mostly for Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalc, AP Computer Science, Chemistry and Physics. I have also helped many of my classmates in college courses. In my Boyscout troop I was an instructor and then the assistant senior patrol leader for instructors, where I led a team of instructors to teach outdoor skills like tying knots, packing tents, first aid and cooking. I learned the EDGE method of teaching in Boyscouts of Explain Demonstrate Guide Enable, and have found it works great when applied to math.

I think learning the underlying reasons why things work is the best method for learning math, both because it is simpler and more useful than memorizing every detail, and it better prepares students for future courses which builds on the existing ideas.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 2

Algebra 2

In Highschool I was a tutor in Math Honor Society, and often tutored Algebra 2. I recently graduated from Georgia Tech in computer science and have taken several math classes which build on the material from Algebra 2.
Calculus

Calculus

In Highschool I was a tutor in Math Honor Society, and often tutored Calculus. I recently graduated from Georgia Tech in computer science and have taken several math classes which build on the material from Calculus such as Differential Equations.
Chemistry

Chemistry

In Highschool I enjoyed taking AP Chemistry and got a 5 on the exam. I occasionally tutored Chemistry while at Math Honor Society. I have not done any chemistry in college so it has been a while, but I still feel confident I would be able to help.
Computer Science

Computer Science

I graduated from Georgia Tech in Computer Science with a 3.9 GPA. I have taken courses on Python Java, Machine Learning and Parallel Computing. I tutored AP Computer Science in highschool in Computer Science Honor Society.
Discrete Math

Discrete Math

At Georgia Tech I got an A in Discrete Math. I have also taken other courses which were sequential to Discrete Math such as Combinatorics, Algorithms, and Automata and Complexity.
Geometry

Geometry

In Highschool I was a tutor in Math Honor Society, and tutored my neighbor in Geometry. At least at my school Geometry was the only HS math course with proofs, and this was one of the harder parts of the class. In college I have taken several other courses which focus on proofs such as linear algebra, discrete math and computational complexity.
Linear Algebra

Linear Algebra

At Georgia Tech I took a proof based linear algebra course where I learned about how and why things in linear algebra work instead of just memorizing the steps of the computations. I think that this approach is much easier to remember than memorizing steps, and much more useful for future applications. I have not tutored Linear Algebra before, but I have often helped out my classmates in the groupchat.
Physics

Physics

I took AP Physics C in Highschool, and got a 5 on both the AP tests for Mechanics and Electricity and Magnetism. In Math Honor Society I sometimes tutored physics. In college I have taken classes such as Differential Equations and Computer Simulation which build on mechanics.
Precalculus

Precalculus

In Highschool I was a tutor in Math Honor Society, and often tutored Pre-Calculus. I recently graduated from Georgia Tech in computer science and have taken several math classes which build on the material from Calculus such as Differential Equations.
Probability

Probability

I have taken coursework in probability and statistics, and frequently use probabilities in Machine Learning. I have not tutored probability before.
Python

Python

In Highschool I tutored AP CS in Java. In college I have often helped my classmates with python projects. Python is my main programming language which I use for Machine Learning.
Statistics

Statistics

I have taken coursework in probability and statistics, and frequently use statistics in Machine Learning. I have not tutored statistics before.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

In Highschool I was a tutor in Math Honor Society, and often tutored Algebra 2 and Precalc. We did not have a separate Trigonometry class at my highschool, but these two classes were what contained most of the trig material. I recently graduated from Georgia Tech in computer science and have taken several math classes which build on this material. I use trig functions in Machine Learning, and for fun projects like making things go in a spiral.
