Hello! I am an experienced mathematics educator with 21 years of teaching middle school mathematics and Algebra I. Throughout my career, I have worked with students of varying skill levels, from those who need additional support with foundational concepts to those who are ready for more advanced challenges. I have been recognized twice as Teacher of the Year, reflecting my commitment to student achievement and excellence in the classroom. Most recently, I received the highest Teacher Incentive Allotment designation of Master, an honor recognizing highly effective teaching and significant student growth.
My tutoring approach is patient, encouraging, and personalized to each student’s needs. I understand that mathematics can sometimes feel overwhelming, so I work to break difficult concepts into clear, manageable steps. I help students understand not only how to solve a problem, but also why the process works. By asking questions, using examples, and connecting new skills to concepts students already understand, I help them become more independent and confident problem-solvers.
I can assist students with middle school mathematics, pre-algebra, Algebra I, homework support, test preparation, skill recovery, and enrichment. I also help students strengthen important foundational skills such as fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, equations, graphing, and problem-solving. During each session, I identify areas of difficulty, provide targeted instruction, and give students opportunities to practice with guidance and feedback.
My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as they learn. I believe every student can make progress in mathematics with the right support, clear explanations, and consistent encouragement. I look forward to helping students improve their skills, reach their academic goals, and develop greater confidence in their ability to succeed.
