I’m currently completing my final year as a full-time geoscience student at Angelo State University, where I’ve developed a strong foundation in structural geology, field mapping, stratigraphy, and GIS. My academic journey has included hands-on research in the Big Bend region, where I’ve contributed to geologic mapping projects and presented findings at professional conferences such as AAPG and GSA. I hold certifications in HAZWOPER and RCRA, which complement my understanding of environmental safety and hazardous materials—skills that often intersect with geoscience education. Prior to college, I served in the U.S. Navy as a Tactical Air Control Party Specialist, where I gained experience in aviation safety, navigation principles, and air traffic control, all of which sharpened my ability to communicate clearly and teach technical material under pressure.

My teaching experience began in Fall 2022 as a volunteer teaching assistant at Angelo State University, where I supported undergraduate geology labs and lectures. I’ve worked with students ranging from freshmen to seniors, helping them grasp complex concepts like fault mechanics, geologic structures, and mapping techniques. I also serve as a STEM research mentor through the HSI Grant Program, guiding students through field methods, sample analysis, and poster preparation. My approach is collaborative and visual—I use diagrams, field photos, and real-world analogies to make abstract concepts more accessible. Whether in one-on-one sessions or small group settings, I focus on building confidence and clarity through patient, structured guidance.

I’m especially passionate about helping students connect textbook knowledge to practical applications. My background in both military operations and academic research allows me to bridge disciplines and tailor my tutoring to diverse learning styles. I believe in empowering students not just to pass their courses, but to understand the science behind the work they’re doing.

Approved Subjects

Earth Science

Earth Science

I specialize in Earth Science education with a strong foundation in fieldwork, structural geology, stratigraphy, and GIS-based mapping. My experience includes leading research projects, mentoring students in field methods, and presenting original geoscience work at regional and national conferences. I emphasize hands-on learning, visual tools, and real-world applications to help students grasp complex Earth systems and geologic processes. Whether teaching foundational concepts or advanced techniques, I bring clarity, enthusiasm, and practical insight to every lesson.
Environmental Science

Environmental Science

I specialize in Earth science with a strong focus on structural geology, including fault systems, rock deformation, and tectonic processes. I’ve guided students through complex topics, such as stress-strain relationships, geologic mapping, and fold analysis, using clear explanations and visual aids. My experience includes tutoring college-level geology and helping learners connect field observations to theoretical models. While I also cover broader Earth science topics, my passion lies in making the mechanics of the Earth's crust accessible and engaging.
Fitness

Fitness

My fitness foundation was forged through years of military service in special operations, where physical conditioning, endurance, and mental resilience were mission-critical. I’ve trained in tactical strength, aquatic survival, and high-intensity functional fitness, and have led instruction in swimming, water safety, and physical readiness for Navy personnel. My approach blends discipline with adaptability, helping individuals build strength, confidence, and performance through structured, goal-driven training. Whether coaching youth, mentoring peers, or preparing trainees for demanding environments, I bring precision, motivation, and real-world experience to every session.
GIS

GIS

I specialize in integrating GIS technology into geoscience research and presentations, using spatial data to visualize complex geological patterns and processes. My experience includes creating detailed field maps, stratigraphic columns, and structural interpretations that enhance clarity and engagement in both academic and public settings. I’ve applied GIS across multiple original research projects, presenting at regional and national conferences to communicate geologic insights effectively. This combination of technical mapping skills and science communication allows me to support students in mastering both the analytical and visual dimensions of geology.
Public Speaking

Public Speaking

I’m a multidisciplinary STEM researcher and tutor with expertise in geology, biology, and biophysics. I’ve presented six original research projects at major scientific venues, including three campus symposia, two Southwest Section AAPG regional conferences, and the national Geological Society of America conference. My approach blends technical depth with clear, engaging communication—skills I’ve honed through both mentoring and public speaking. Whether you're navigating structural geology, preparing for a presentation, or refining your research, I’m here to help you succeed with confidence.
Swimming

Swimming

I hold certifications as a Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard, with extensive experience teaching swimming and water competency to children and military personnel. My background includes instructing Navy trainees in aquatic safety, stroke technique, and survival skills, emphasizing both confidence and precision in the water. I specialize in adapting lessons to all skill levels, fostering trust and progress through clear communication and structured practice. Whether working with beginners or refining advanced techniques, I bring discipline, empathy, and proven instructional methods to every session.
