Hello! My name is Myriam! I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of MultiDisciplinary Studies degree from the University of Texas at El Paso. I thoroughly enjoy learning, and I'm zealous for others to love it as well.
I am passionate about giving kids the building blocks of a great foundation for Reading. I don't just want them to go through the motions, but to really learn and love the results! I encourage different learning styles and enjoy incorporating new ways to help students...

Hello! My name is Myriam! I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of MultiDisciplinary Studies degree from the University of Texas at El Paso. I thoroughly enjoy learning, and I'm zealous for others to love it as well.
I am passionate about giving kids the building blocks of a great foundation for Reading. I don't just want them to go through the motions, but to really learn and love the results! I encourage different learning styles and enjoy incorporating new ways to help students where they're at.
I also love History, and desire to instill passion and knowledge about it to any pupil I tutor. My particular field of interest and study is World War II and European History, but I enjoy all periods of history.
I taught Spanish for 2 years at a private Christian school, and another two years at a Home-school Cooperative. I lived in Mexico for 13 years, and am fluent. I want to help students grasp the fundamentals of the language while also giving them actually useful tips and information for the purpose of conversation and fluency.
On a personal note, I truly teach what I love. These subjects are not just subjects, but areas of my life to which I have devoted much time, effort and study. I now home school my four children. My three oldest whom I taught to read are now all voracious readers. And I'm now entering the adventure of learning to read with my youngest! I would consider it a privilege to come alongside a parent as they seek to help their child learn a particular subject and experience success and triumph as they increasingly master it.

I have taught kids to learn to read and to love to read! We focus on hearing the language through read alouds, building the basics with phonics and sight words, and increasing the love of stories!

I am a native Spanish speaker. I also took Spanish literature courses and taught high school level classes for several years. I instructed a wide range of ages to understand the building blocks of language while incorporating ease of fluency.

Creative Writing is a passion of mine; I have written for several publications and I have taught different ages to read and write and beyond successfully. So much of good writing is laying a good foundation and sparking a love of stories.

Amazing and patient don’t do her justice.

She has helped our son tremendously in his reading! She was able to get to know him and use his likes to her advantage. His reading has substantially gotten better and his confidence in reading as also increased. Myriam is such an awesome tutor I would highly recommend her and will continue to utilize her for our son.

Marvelous Phonics Tutor

Myriam has been tutoring our five year old for a few months now and we are very pleased with her methods and the progress we've seen in our son. We had an initial meeting to discuss our goals for him and she came up with an individualized plan based on those, his learning style, and our schedule. She has different activities for him each session to keep him engaged and learning. He looks forward to their sessions and we are confident he will be ready for kindergarten in the fall thanks to Myriam. We would happily recommend her to our friends.
