I believe in a question-based model of learning. Most of the time, students and other learners have the information they need to solve the problems at hand, and all they're missing is a path along which to follow. I am an expert in asking guiding questions, leading learners to reach conclusions themselves. Together, we will build a roadmap, reminding students how to tackle the problem from the start, where to connect what information, and what to look for or avoid along that road. A tutor's job is not to simply offer answers, but to ensure you or your student have the tools needed to succeed when I'm not in the room.
In December of 2025, I received a 3.578 GPA on my Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, specializing in the natural sciences, humanities, and education. I studied within UTeach, a UT system program which provides prospective teachers a chance to create lessons, practice teaching skills, and teach students in a classroom environment. In that program, I taught in elementary, middle, and high school classrooms, working kids through lessons I wrote. Since the start of this school year, I've been substituting for all grade levels. In college, I participated in Peer-Led Team Learning (PLTL), which brings a group of students together to retread what is taught in class for retention. I participated in multiple PLTLs, one for Chemistry II and one for Organic Chemistry, and in those groups, I tutored many of my college-aged peers.
Even as far back as middle school, I was tutoring my classmates on math and science alike. Algebra, Newton's Laws, and Space were the subjects I helped with most. In high school, I scored within the 98th percentile for my SAT, and I was constantly walking my high school classmates through lessons in Physics, Chemistry, and Calculus. For as long as I can remember, I've loved to learn and to help others learn alongside me. Being a high school physics teacher is my long-term plan, and teaching has always been my passion.
