Hello! My name is Annie, and I graduated with highest honors from UT Austin with degrees in Neuroscience and Plan II Honors, alongside a certificate in Digital Arts and Media. I am currently in a gap year preparing to attend medical school. As a 99th percentile scorer on both the MCAT (523) and SAT (1550), I specialize in standardized test prep and college admissions coaching, helping students master exam logic, compelling storytelling, and core academic concepts.

In addition to test prep and college application essay tutoring, I teach high school and college-level Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Organic Chemistry (including AP courses), as well as general essay writing. I am also fluent in both Korean and English.

My background includes extensive teaching across diverse academic settings. I spent 2.5 years as a mentor in the Biobricks Freshman Research Initiative Lab, guiding undergraduate students through biochemistry lab protocols and foundational theory. I also served as a Teaching Assistant for "The Healer-Patient Relationship," an honors seminar exploring medicine and humanities. My writing background ranges from coaching high schoolers on college admissions essays to helping ESL adults navigate professional English.

My teaching approach centers on active recall, conceptual mastery, and adaptability. Rather than relying on rote memorization, I break down complex material into intuitive steps, using targeted practice and constructive feedback to build confidence. Whether dissecting MCAT passages, polishing a personal statement, untangling organic chemistry mechanisms, or sharpening SAT strategies, I customize every session to fit your specific goals.

As a published thesis author and graduate of UT Austin’s prestigious Plan II Honors program, I specialize in helping students craft compelling, articulate essays for academic courses and university admissions. Over four years of tutoring international students and serving as a university Teaching Assistant, I have guided writers through every stage of the process, from brainstorming to polishing reflective and argumentative writing. Whether crafting personal statements for competitive college and graduate programs or mastering fundamental essay structure, I teach students how to express their unique voice and experiences with clarity and impact.

As a 99th percentile MCAT scorer (523 total: 130 C/P, 130 CARS, 131 B/B, 132 P/S) and UT Austin Neuroscience and Plan II Honors graduate, I offer comprehensive guidance across every section of the exam. My background includes 2.5 years as a biochemistry lab mentor, where I trained students to evaluate complex data and scientific literature. Through active recall and targeted passage analysis, I help students bridge content gaps, master exam logic, and approach test day with genuine confidence.

As a 1550 SAT scorer (780 Math, 770 Reading & Writing) and UT Austin Neuroscience and Plan II Honors graduate, I specialize in helping students master the logic, foundational algebra, and problem-solving strategies required to score in the top percentiles on the SAT. With a strong foundation in high-level math and experience mentoring STEM students across the high school and university levels, I teach actionable approaches to parse tricky word problems, avoid common traps, and optimize pacing. I tailor my sessions to each student's baseline and focus on breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps to build both personalized test-taking strategies and confidence.

SAT Reading

As a 1550 SAT scorer (770 Reading & Writing) and UT Austin Neuroscience and Plan II Honors graduate, I specialize in helping students break down the logical framework of the SAT Reading section. I teach students actionable strategies to analyze passage structure, identify precise text evidence, and systematically eliminate trap choices (such as options that are "too broad," "too narrow," or factually ungrounded). Having mentored students across humanities, research, and technical disciplines across high school and university levels, I tailor my coaching to help students build critical analysis skills, improve pacing, and gain test-day confidence.
