Remember there is always more than one way to arrive at the same answer which allows you to pick the best way that works for you! I love working with students and spent many years tutoring friends and family before becoming a certified math teacher.
I like to use the format of I do, we do, and you do. Of course you can practice as much as you want until you feel comfortable with your assignment or problems. I want you to feel comfortable asking as many questions as you like, so you will be able to work independently. I know I have done a good job when you can explain your steps and why your answer is reasonable.
