My journey as a tutor began in 2020, where I volunteered online to provide free tutoring in subjects such as algebra, language arts, and also STAAR Test prep. After tutoring online and for 100+ hours, I have discovered the key to a student's academic success: self-confidence. I realize that students have more potential than they think, and when I'm working on a problem with a student, they seem to understand it more when they solve the problem with their own work, rather than in a shared classroom environment. I start off every tutoring session with a customized study plan for each student and also create my own practice problems for them that target their areas of weakness so that they can benefit and learn as much as possible during the time we have together. I always make sure to thoroughly explain every step in a problem, backed up by concepts they are learning in class, and I will pause and ask the student if they understood each step, followed by them doing another similar problem with me on the whiteboard.
Upon graduating high school in 2023, I ranked in the top 10% of my class and also was awarded the International Baccalaureate diploma. I now currently study neuroscience at The University of Texas at Dallas and I have earned placement on the Dean's List every semester. After taking the SAT and achieving a score of 1550, I was drawn to tutor SAT prep, where I can share my own study tips and tricks. I am also familiar with the new digital format of the SAT. My familiarity with this format stems from my participation in its developmental stages as a study participants prior to its launch. Through my SAT tutoring, I was able to help students in achieving notable score improvements of up to 60 points.
