Hello!
My name is Darryl and my students choose the method they prefer: traditional sight reading, or play by ear/improvisation, or both! I can help you fast-track to playing the songs YOU like! With over 30 years experience teaching piano, It's not uncommon for my students to win talent shows, top scores in the Piano Guild competitions, and music scholarships.

Some of my career highlights include a 2010 TELLY award for my piano composition/music video "Raindrops" and a 2016 Steinway Hall Top Teacher award in Fort Worth, Texas. As a songwriter and producer, my song "Bright Sunny Day" made a top 10 radio playlist in Australia.

Some of my other activities include serving as a voting member 10 years for the GRAMMY awards and serving as music director and pianist for several churches in the DFW metroplex. Early in my career I composed/recorded jingles and score music for local businesses and industrial videos.

Growing up and through college, I studied piano under nine different teachers including the great jazz pianist Bob Snook and the Dallas Piano Teachers Association president Yvonne Reynolds. Later I earned an Associates degree in Music Composition & Arranging.
