I have 25 years of experience in Education. I began tutoring in my university’s writing lab in 1999. I am a reading specialist and an Autism specialist. Most importantly, I have a knack for instilling a genuine love of learning.

From my career in Educational & Motivational Psychology, my skills are an asset for my work in Education. Learning really can be an adventure! I take elementary students on adventures to the Fry Galaxy to learn sight words. Join my Super Phonics Hero Team! Learning about fictional characters and plot development as we create a comic book is just too cool, my students tell me.

I teach by the standards of education. I conduct thorough assessments and create individualized educational plans for each of my students. I give my students as much support as they need, and provide materials for additional practice outside of sessions.

I teach English, Math, Social Studies, and Science. I also have experience with test prep, such as the ASVAB, SAT, ACT, PSAT, ISEE, SSAT, HSPT, IOWA, and STAAR. Many of my students are college students who want to improve their writing skills or further develop their study skills.

have helped many students prepare for the ASVAB. I can help with ASVAB test prep, as well as a content review for English, Math, and Science. I am an Army veteran, and my score on the ASVAB was in the 94th percentile.

I participated in a special program in Houston from 2021-2023 that provides a free STAAR review and test prep for high school students. I provided the English I review for the 9th graders, and assisted with the Algebra I review as well.

Jessica has been an amazing math tutor for our 8-year-old! She has been teaching him concepts like perimeter and area in a way that is engaging, fun, and perfectly appropriate for his age.
