Educational Background and Certifications
I bring a rigorous academic foundation to every session, holding a B.S. in Chemistry. My transition from the laboratory to the classroom and now to the clinical floor as a nursing student at Galen College of Nursing allows me to teach science through a practical, real-world lens. I am deeply familiar with the academic standards required for both high school success and collegiate-level health science programs.

Teaching and Tutoring Experience
With 8 years of professional teaching experience, I have mastered the art of breaking down complex "gatekeeper" subjects. My background includes:
High School and Collegiate: I have taught high school chemistry and collegiate biology, specializing in making abstract concepts like stoichiometry and cellular metabolism intuitive.
K-8 Expertise: I spent years in the classroom teaching elementary and middle school math and science, helping students build the foundational confidence they need for higher-level STEM.
Undergraduate Mentorship: During my own undergraduate career, I served as a chemistry and biology tutor, providing one-on-one support for peers navigating difficult degree requirements.
My Approach: "The Clinical Connection"
I believe that students disengage when they don't see the "why." Whether I am working with a 5th grader on fractions or a nursing hopeful on HESI/TEAS prep, my method is:
Contextual Learning: I use my healthcare background to show how biology and math apply to the human body and medicine.
Scaffolding: We start with what you know and build upward, ensuring there are no "knowledge gaps" left behind.
Active Recall: I move away from passive lecturing. My students engage in problem-solving and "teaching back" to ensure true mastery.
Flexible Formats
From large classroom settings of 30+ students to intimate one-on-one sessions and volunteer mentorships, I have taught in every environment. I am comfortable working with all age groups and am currently offering virtual sessions via Zoom
