I am a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) and Registered Nurse with a Master of Science in Nursing and extensive experience in healthcare, oncology, hematology, infusion therapy, and patient education. I am certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and have experience caring for patients across a wide range of medical conditions. My clinical background has required me to develop a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, pathophysiology, assessment, diagnostic testing, and clinical decision-making. I also have experience with chemotherapy and biotherapy, urgent oncology care, and complex patient management.
Throughout my nursing and nurse practitioner career, I have regularly taught and mentored nursing students, nurses, new healthcare providers, and patients. My teaching approach is personalized and focused on helping students understand the "why" behind what they are learning rather than simply memorizing information. I break complex concepts into manageable pieces and use real-world clinical examples, practice questions, case studies, and step-by-step explanations to help students connect theory to practice. I encourage students to ask questions and work through problems independently while providing guidance and feedback along the way.
I am especially passionate about helping nursing students and aspiring healthcare professionals build confidence in subjects that can feel overwhelming, including pharmacology, pathophysiology, anatomy and physiology, medical-surgical nursing, oncology, clinical assessment, and NCLEX preparation. Whether a student needs help understanding a difficult concept, preparing for an exam, developing clinical reasoning skills, or building confidence before entering practice, I strive to create a supportive and judgment-free learning environment tailored to each student's individual needs and learning style.
