Greetings,
I have over ten years of pediatric nursing experience working as a community and hospital staff nurse in the greater Houston area. My work experience includes acute care medicine with specialties in neurology, neurosurgery, general medical-surgical, and oncology. I also have over five years’ experience as a clinic coordinator and case manager for pulmonary patients in the pediatric population. I have simultaneously spent five years working with a publishing company of medical textbooks where I edit nursing skills and write test questions.
My tutoring approach is to focus on points of weakness identified by the student. I believe, as an adult learner, that identifying one’s learning strengths and weaknesses are key to be a successful student. For nursing subjects particularly, focus on test-taking skills and subject matter will be a priority. I have experience training and orienting high school students, undergraduate students, and newly graduate nursing students to hospital units. Additionally, I have had training and education in teaching adult learners.
My credentials include a Bachelor of Nursing from Baylor University, my certification in pediatric nursing, and I am currently enrolled at the University of Texas at Arlington to earn my master’s in nursing education. I have completed more than half the program and am scheduled to graduate next year.
