I have been tutoring at all levels for 1 year, with requests for continued tutoring of clients and their siblings for next year.
My goal with my students is to create understanding of the material and learning processes so that they can progress from needing a teacher or tutor to being self-reliant. If the student does not bring questions or work to complete, I create lessons based on their needs in the subject. If the student does bring questions or work to complete, I address the questions using examples, then have the student work similar problems. I engage the student in working to complete assignments via a questioning process that leads the student without simply providing the answer.
