I am Mark. I am very pleased to meet you. I graduated summa cum laude in bioengineering from Texas A&M University in 1973. I was awarded a fellowship in biomedical engineering at the University of Virginia. I spent a year and a half in that program, with classwork equivalent to a masters degree, before deciding I would rather become a medical doctor and work helping people. I graduated from the University of Texas health Science center in San Antonio medical school in 1979. I practiced family
medicine for 39 years before retiring in 2018 . I was board-certified and recertified continuously throughout my career in the specialty of family medicine. Then I qualified myself for a teaching internship. I taught high school physics, and anatomy and physiology for one semester in the Ft Worth ISD.. Then decided I would rather focus my efforts on the students who really want to learn.

My talents and experience truly lie in the field of one on one teaching. Patient education was a major focus in my practice throughout my 39 year career. I was complimented daily on my teaching ability by my patients. I have a knack for taking seemingly complicated medical and scientific concepts and putting them in a language and frame of reference that works for you as an individual. If it’s science I will find a way to make it understandable for you. And that is my goal. I will assure that you’ve learned and gain the comfort of understanding you need to be successful in whatever you’re studying. Please feel free to contact me on this platform so that I can answer your questions, allay your concerns, and schedule your Tutoring sessions.
In Summary
I started in chemical engineering and graduated in bio engineering went to graduate school in biomedical engineering and have the equivalent of two engineering degrees. I also have a medical degree and 39 years of one on one teaching with patients on a daily basis and thousands of times.

Anatomy

Anatomy

Medical degree and 39 years of medical practice. I spent 4 decades using my intricate knowledge of human anatomy to not only diagnose & treat patients but also to teach them about their own anatomy. This allowed them to understand how their body was designed and to give them a detailed (as time permitted) understanding of how their normal anatomy had been altered, and what their role would be in helping their body correct & repair the problem. I never flabbergasted them with meaningless scientific jargon they could not understand. I learned to use language & examples that were relevant to each of them as individuals. In short, I got daily practice in the art of teaching anatomy in a meaningful & understandable fashion. And as a student, I will make sure you get the full advantages of my teaching experience. I will make sure that you learn what I know in a way that is meaningful for you to use yourself.
Pharmacology

Pharmacology

I was a practicing board certified family medicine physician over a 39 year career. So I have extensive experience in pharmacology and prescribing medications from my large range of classic of medications. So I have an extensive fund of knowledge in the field of pharmacology and decades of practical experience in applying the use of these medicines.
Physiology

Physiology

Medical degree and 39 years of medical practice. I spent 4 decades using my intricate knowledge of human physiology to not only diagnose & treat patients, but also to teach them about their own physiology & body/organ function. This allowed them to understand how their body was designed & functioned and gave them a detailed (as time permitted) understanding of how their normal physiology had been altered, and what their role would be in helping their body correct & repair the problem. I never flabbergasted them with meaningless scientific jargon they could not understand. I learned to use language & examples that were relevant to each of them as individuals. In short, I got daily practice in the art of teaching physiology in a meaningful & understandable fashion. And as a student, I will make sure you get the full advantages of my teaching experience.
