Hello! My name is Kelsey N., and I am an undergraduate student studying political science. I have had a love of learning from a young age that, over time, has grown into a want to help others learn. This has, in many ways, been sparked by my own educational path. In 2022, I received an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma and was also recognized as an AP Scholar. During my time in the IB program, I earned perfect scores in history and English, as well as excelling in the AP Literature, AP Language Composition, and AP U.S. History exams. These experiences helped build my teaching philosophy, which is that anyone can be successful if they are given the right tools to do so. That is why I offer flexibility in lesson planning and knowledge building, to meet students where they are so that I can provide the supplemental support that will allow for them to be successful.
Almost all of my tutoring experience has been focused on one-on-one assistance. This allows me to tailor lesson plans, feedback, and approaches to the material to each student I have the opportunity to work with. I have a year of tutoring experience with elementary to high school students working in subjects such as elementary math, all levels of social studies/history, and all levels of English (including AP and IB test prep). Additionally, I have three years of experience reviewing and editing essays up to the collegiate level, as well as six years of experience assisting in teaching public speaking. For my experiences in debate organizations focusing on public speaking, I have been honored awards from groups such as Youth and Government, TXMUN, and National Model United Nations.
Working with students to help build their confidence in their skills and knowledge base is always such a joy! Learning and receiving help in areas of difficulty should be fun, easy, and accessible, and I strive to bring this to every student I work with. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a lesson/essay help!
