Hello! I'm Carolyn, and I’m enthusiastic to create a warm and encouraging environment for students to learn and clarify their understanding, particularly in the sciences and mathematics. I have scored a 4/5 in over 10+ AP courses throughout high school ranging from the sciences (Biology, Chemistry) to mathematics (Calculus BC, Statistics) to history (US and European) and more! Through these courses, I've developed and learned to transfer the necessary study techniques to excel also in college, graduating with a 4.0 GPA as a Biology pre-med student. Additionally, I have 4+ years of experience tutoring elementary and middle school students in reading and 6+ years in mathematics throughout the summer.

I prefer 1-to-1 tutoring and enjoy empowering students to see and make strides towards their great potential and room for growth! Please contact me with any questions you may have, and I look forward to working with you and your students to achieve their educational goals.

Education:
Plano West High School (Top 1%)
B.S. Biology, Northeastern University (Summa Cum Laude)

I have excelled in necessary math courses both in high school and college, including Calculus BC and Statistics, and have demonstrated my proficiency by receiving a 800 on the SAT Math Level 2 Subject Test.

I have also demonstrated my proficiency in the sciences through both high school and college from general introductory courses to more advanced upper-level courses (Genetics, Cell & Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Organic Chemistry) as well. I also received a 770 on the SAT Chemistry Subject Test.

As a recent college graduate, I am not too far removed from many of the academic difficulties and hardships students face and am eager to offer my services to ensure other students have the necessary means and access to excel in both their school and personal academic pursuits!

During the summers of 2010-2014, I have volunteered over 100+ for a Summer School, helping to tutor both elementary and middle school students in math. During the summers of 2015-2016, I also volunteered for a nonprofit, tutoring underprivileged children in math who could not afford formal tutoring. For both, I answered math questions, taught concepts, and assisted with homework questions.
