In my spare time, I read non-fiction books on business, psychology, health and medicine, parenting, and education (with an emphasis on gifted and talented education). I also enjoy taking online courses in nutrition, philosophy, and neuropsychology. I am always looking for ways to improve my skill set and strategies for learning and teaching others.
It makes me smile when I have the opportunity to teach students and watch them progress over time, especially for courses/lessons they think are challenging or impossible. Learning should be challenging and fun!
I have experience in coaching study skills for the SAT and ACT and have helped students improve their math scores significantly to earn college scholarships and attend competitive colleges and universities.
I have a strong background in the sciences and have helped students in a variety of biological and medical sciences. Students can expect to improve their score on the ACT science with my approach to the exam.
