= Approach =

My goal is to help you make dramatic improvements in Calculus fast.

Each testing cycle, this is achieved through a simple process:

Step 1 - Take and score all testable material (sample problems/homework/past exams). Note each mistake as: a careless error, an issue of applying concepts, or an issue of understanding concepts. We’ll review each mistake, determine its root cause, and eliminate your gaps.

Step 2 - Apply the insight gained from step 1 and continue to improve your weak areas with targeted homework.

Step 3 - Repeat until strong.

= Policies =

Referrals:

-Get 1 lesson at 50% discount for each verified referral of a friend.

Cancellations:

-Lessons must be cancelled with at least 24 hours notice to avoid cancellation fees.
-Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are charged the full lesson time. This includes lessons not attended within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time and no-shows.
-If the student is 15 or more minutes late with no notification, I will assume the lesson is cancelled.

I teach my students not only the material, but also how to study. Over the term, we will: 1) Take smart notes: annotate as many sample problems as possible with detailed explanations of what each step accomplishes and why it’s important. 2) Build a problem bank: Gather all testable problems and augment them with prompts that ask you to explain the basics of every major topic covered (e.g. explain what a derivative is, what it means, general technique for calculating it, special cases, etc). 3) Quiz-and-recall: actively explain the major topics as if lecturing to a class and solve the problems – unaided by notes. Mark the ones that gave you trouble on the first pass. 4) Repeat Step 3) for the marked examples until you have an unmarked round, filling in gaps as we go. Whether you need help with homework, an exam, catching up, or getting ahead, I aim for you to emerge from tutoring a more creative and confident problem solver.

Dedicated, Personable, Flexible, Knowledgeable

My son has been with Sameer for close to a year now. He started tutoring in Algebra 2 and from there he transferred over to SAT prep. My son has seen incredible gains on his SAT score, with a 280 point gain overall, broken down into a 160 point improvement in the math section, and a 120 point improvement in the reading and writing section. Sameer has also been incredibly flexible around my son's busy extracurricular schedule. He prioritizes school work, making sure it is done in time and accurately, and helps on any topics, whenever needed. He also assigns homework for SAT studying and does expect it to be done. Overall he's been very dedicated , knowledgeable, and has proven to be an incredible tutor over the past year. Would definitely recommend

Excellent tutor

My son was struggling with his SAT scores in reading . Just 3 weeks before his test Sameer helped him go through the concepts and make him understand on how to solve complex problems . Took extra time to review his homework he assigned for him to be successful. Sameer has been a very good and knowledgeable teacher.
