I am passionate about breaking down complex problems into clear steps that are easily understood. I have helped hundreds of students gain skill and confidence in their math classes. I really enjoy working with students to grasp and master math concepts for Calculus, Pre-Calc, Trig, and Algebra. I am passionate about breaking down complex problems into clear steps that are easily understood. I have helped hundreds of students gain skill and confidence in their math classes. I draw on my 10 years as a math tutor working with students 1:1 as well as my 5 years teaching math at a private school. Additionally, I have experience in a math lab setting, where students bring their questions that I explain in simple steps. I have helped failing students pass, and moved students from "Bs" to "As". My goal is to unlock your potential and enable you to achieve your best grade.

My goal is to make you successful and I invest in you so we reach your goals together. My experience over the years in 1:1 tutoring has shown me the simplest ways to break down concepts so they make sense to you. This results in increased test scores, both in the classroom and for the college placement tests. Students typically increase their SAT math scores by 100+ points and their ACT Math/Science test scores by 4+ points on test day. The best test takers are prepared test takers. I have an engineering degree from Texas A&M, a master's degree in Computer Engineering from SMU, and have taught math classes and SAT/ACT preparation classes at a private high school, working with students of varying learning styles. I identify growth areas after giving an assessment, and ensure students understand the underlying concepts. Students practice using sample tests and see improvement after 4-5 sessions. Incredible Tutor for both PreCal & Calculus

My son, a senior in high school, was extremely fortunate to have Bill tutor him in both Honors PreCal and Honors Calculus. He tutored him twice a week during the second semester of Calc.Today, I'm sending Bill a big virtual hug, because my son~with time and hard work~was able to achieve a final grade in Honors Calc that he didn't think he'd be able to achieve. Bill is extremely organized, dedicated, and goes the extra mile for those he tutors. My son struggled on Calc assessments, so Bill made him some practice assessments to help him gain more confidence in taking assessments and to help him gain familiarity with course content. My son was discouraged sometimes about his performance, but Bill was encouraging and reminded our son that he is a capable student. Our son made a 50% on a test, but~with Bill's help~ was able to get an 80% on the next test. Bill was wonderful to give an update after each lesson re: what was accomplished, what still needed to be worked on, and he would make sure my son had whiteboards and recorded lessons to review. Bill is a gifted tutor and a caring individual and was always prompt, courteous, and knowledgable. This is why we sought him out again after he first tutored our son in PreCal. We are incredibly grateful that he helped our son to successfully complete the courses and we hope our son has learned a lesson he will carry with him to college. When you need assistance, you must seek it and be willing to work. We highly recommend Bill as a tutor!
