I have a Master's degree in Education with an American History emphasis and a Bachelor's in Art earning double major of History and Art History and I graduated with honors in both my Master's degree and Bachelor's degree. I hold certifications in elementary, middle school, and high school. I am certified in three states. Likewise, I feel very comfortable with all ages as well!

I recently relocated to the Dallas area from Philadelphia and currently teach Middle School English Language Arts which includes reading, literature, writing, grammar, spelling, and vocabulary. In Philadelphia I taught 4th grade as well as 5th, 6th, and 7th middle school students. This has been a valuable experience to me educating and helping a diverse group of students with many educational needs. Additionally, I have taught elementary age students from kindergarten to 8th grade. I currently have my own classroom, but have also been a substitute teacher and that has given me the ability to hit the ground running in any situation!

Likewise, I have taught Advanced Placement European and American History and Literature and Humanities to high school students. I have also tutored many students in SAT reading and writing. I am very versatile and love to teach and communicating with all people! It is very rewarding to be a teacher and see a student grasp something that was confusing to them and see their growth. I am comfortable teaching all subjects and love teaching reading, math, writing, and language arts.

I have tutored many students and was even a tutor for the AVID program, a tutoring program that caters to at-risk students and struggling students. Students in the AVID program increase their test scores by 86 percent. I know first hand that many times a student just needs an extra boost and that hearing information in a different way will make a big difference.

I have proven results. My class average rose last year 35% in math, 30% in reading, 45% in social studies, and 25% in language arts. I do love to teach and

Art History

Art History

My goal is to teach my students how to critically and historically learn from a work of art. By studying art they can learn the history behind that artwork. I strive to teach not only a knowledge of art history, but the theory and philosophy of art history as well. In art history students learn about the different cultural aspects of art and the different periods in the past. A student should gain an insight about different cultures such the Greek, Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, and even our modern culture. An art history student should be able to describe and analyze these cultures through writing and also orally.

Furthermore, I have taught students how to evaluate, survey, review, and infer from reading passages. I also incorporate many learning strategies and games into my lessons. I have taught students to use the strategies that work best for them. It is also very important to master the basics in so many students and lay that important foundation for more challenging work to come.
