I’m an Emmy Award–winning film and television producer and author of two acclaimed novels published by Union Square/Hachette. My undergraduate degree is from UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television, and I have an MFA in Creative Writing from Hamline University.
I have over a decade of film industry experience working directly with screenwriters and filmmakers to develop feature film and television projects that have gone on to win Emmy Awards and garner Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations. I have worked one-on-one with young writers and storytellers as a coach and mentor for five plus years, and I specialize in helping my students discover their own unique voice by working with them to develop a personal creative process and practice. This can take the form of helping them complete a long-term project such as a novel, screenplay, or creative portfolio, guiding them in the drafting and editing of a personal application essay, or working with them to strengthen their storytelling skills.
My goal is to demystify the process of writing and storytelling for my students and mentees by breaking it down into achievable steps, teaching specific craft skills that will empower and motivate them, and providing the level of accountability and mentorship that writers and creators need to flourish and grow.
