Welcome! I love history, and it is my goal to not only help you better understand the subject, but also to have a greater appreciation of it. There are few things in life I enjoy more than working with students! History is simply the story of us, and there is a little something in it for everyone.
I am currently a professor at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where I primarily teach U.S. history from our earliest days to present. While my interests lie in war, cultural, and societal history, I am well-versed in all aspects of our collective history. I have a BS in political science (history minor) from the University of Missouri, a Masters in history from Sam Houston State University, and a PhD in history from Texas A&M University. I also have a Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston, and was a practicing attorney for 20+ years before deciding to change careers and embrace my love of history.
