Experienced Math and Science Tutor for K-12 and College Students

I'm Tarek, and I graduated summa cum laude (top 5%) with a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience from the University of Texas at Dallas, where I was on the pre-medical track. During my college years, I realized that what made classes enjoyable for me wasn't necessarily the subject itself, but the engaging and comprehensible teaching style of certain professors. These educators went the extra mile to help students understand the material, which left a lasting impression on me. I've adopted this approach in my tutoring, aiming to make learning a pleasant experience. My lessons typically begin with a creative introduction to the topic, followed by clear and explicit teaching of the material. Then, I provide students with the opportunity to practice on their own, with flexibility based on individual needs.

During the past 4 years at college, I was a Peer-Led Team Learning tutor in Calculus, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, and Psychology, among others. Teaching these subjects to my peers one-on-one and in groups helped me master and succeed in my courses material as a pre-medical student. I also taught more basic math and science subjects such as Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Pre-calculus and more to my 3 younger brothers at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.

My aim is to help students to the best of my abilities, and I welcome any resources or suggestions from students and parents to enhance the learning process.
