I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and am a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with 42 years of clinical and academic experience. My nursing education included extensive coursework in anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and evidence-based practice, all of which laid the foundation for my academic tutoring. In addition to my degree, I have completed continuing education focused on test preparation and learning support for neurodivergent students, including those with ADHD, dyslexia, and autism spectrum disorders.
Over the past five years, I have worked as both a one-on-one and small group tutor for nursing students at the LVN, Associates, and BSN levels. I’ve supported students in mastering foundational nursing concepts, clinical reasoning, and test-taking strategies, particularly for high-stakes exams such as the NCLEX-RN, HESI, and ATI. My tutoring style is individualized, patient, and flexible—aimed at meeting each student where they are. I use a combination of active recall, practice questions, and simplified breakdowns of complex material to support long-term retention. I have worked with traditional college-aged students as well as adult learners, both in-person and online, and I pride myself on creating a supportive, nonjudgmental learning environment.
My experience also includes working with neurodivergent students, adapting materials and pacing to suit their individual needs. Whether a student is struggling with nursing math, test anxiety, or simply organizing their study routine, I offer tailored support to help them build confidence and competence. I genuinely enjoy assisting future nurses to succeed academically and feel empowered in their education.
