Education: Todd holds a Doctorate in Music Education from Liberty University, a Master's in Music Performance (Trombone) from the University of Miami, and a Bachelor's of Arts in Trombone Performance from the University of Central Florida. Additionally, he has earned a Graduate Level Certificate in Wind Band Conducting from Messiah University, where he is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Conducting. He also holds an Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in Music Education.

Experience and Teaching Style: With a rich musical career that spans across the United States and Brazil, He brings extensive experience as a professional trombonist, guitarist, songwriter, arranger, clinician, music producer, educator, and conductor. Currently, he is the band director at Hyde Park Baptist School in Austin, Texas, a trombonist with the Austin Symphonic Band, an arranger and trombonist with the Hyde Park Baptist Church Orchestra, and band leader of the Toddy Murfi BigBand. His teaching style is grounded in his deep commitment to fostering musical excellence while nurturing a passion for music in his students. He emphasizes a well-rounded approach that balances technical skill development with creativity and expressive performance, ensuring that each student reaches their full potential.

On the lighter side, Todd enjoys fishing, traveling, playing chess, producing music videos, and spending time with his family.
