I am currently a high school Spanish teacher with over three years of teaching experience in a high school environment who is eager to help students who are struggling with their Spanish or English language skills grasp and master their language goals.
I am mostly familiar with first and second-year high school Spanish curricula, but I am capable of tutoring students of all ages and levels. I am very aware of the different types of learning abilities in my students and try to incorporate several different methods to teach language components such as verb conjugations, sentence structure, and reading comprehension.
I have spent a good deal of time in various Latin American countries and received my BA in Spanish from Texas A&M University with a minor in English. I have access to a wide variety of resources as well as support from other teachers should there be a hurdle that is difficult to overcome. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
