Hi, I'm Kelli!
I'm a PhD-trained biologist with nearly a decade of experience helping high school and college students master biology. I earned my doctorate in Molecular Physiology and Biophysics from Vanderbilt University, where I also completed a certification in College Teaching focused on evidence-based strategies for diverse learning styles and academic goals. Before that, I received my BS in Human Biology (concentration in pathogenesis and immunology) from UT Austin, where I taught and mentored other students through freshman interest groups, scientific immersion programs, and formal tutoring sessions for biology and chemistry courses.
My expertise spans the full spectrum of biology: AP Biology, college-level introductory courses, and advanced subjects (neurophysiology, genetics, biomedical systems, etc.). I also offer targeted help for students preparing for exams such as the MCAT and PCAT.
My teaching approach is interactive, strategic, and personalized to each student’s goals. For science majors, I emphasize deep conceptual understanding, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to connect complex topics to real-world biological systems relevant to their academic and career interests. For non-majors, I focus on efficiency and clarity - highlighting the most important takeaways from lectures, improving performance and confidence, and sparking as much interest in science as possible along the way.
