I found a love and passion for teaching when I became first year teacher in 2018. As I grew my experience in the classroom in the pass 5 school years I was able to develop a keen understanding for my students individual academic needs in order to understand how to effectively teach key test taking strategies for the best understanding of Biology objectives.
Through this method my students and I made history at my campus by drastically increasing the passing rate for the Biology STAAR exam. My biology re-testers students scores increased by 47% through small group tutoring interventions. This was the highest increase amongst all subject areas such as algebra and English. My students and I were been able to achieve this by simplifying complex topic like microbiology (biomolcules, mitosis, protein synthesis and much more) to compare it to everyday life in order to make the concepts easier to grasp.
I truly want to benefit the students I work to help them thrive as much as possible. I want to keep an open line of communication with students and parents to ensure the best success from all students.
