About Vicki

Bio

I graduated with a BA in Biology and I started my MD/PhD training in the fall of 2017. As a hard working student who believes in life long learning, I understand how persistence, practice and guidance are vital for successfully understanding and mastering new concepts. I have 9+ years of tutoring experience. Along the way, I have learned how to effectively relate to, and easily adapt to, the different learning styles and preferences of students.

I graduated with a BA in Biology and I started my MD/PhD training in the fall of 2017. As a hard working student who believes in life long learning, I understand how persistence, practice and guidance are vital for successfully understanding and mastering new concepts. I have 9+ years of tutoring experience. Along the way, I have learned how to effectively relate to, and easily adapt to, the different learning styles and preferences of students.

With a passion for helping others learn and reach their potential, I work with patience, creativity and collaboration. I believe in learning the concepts and then applying those ideas to problems that require critical thinking and analysis. These kinds of activities ensure that the foundation of knowledge required for any particular subject is there, and also challenges the student in a way that fosters growth as a learner.

My interests are in the biological sciences, writing, and the social sciences. Being so, my tutor subjects are MCAT, Biology, Chemistry, Writing, and Psychology. With experience in writing my own successful lab reports and admissions essays, I am also available as a writing tutor. I can help with editing college or graduate school admission essays. If you are also preparing for medical/graduate school interviews and would like a mock interview along with feedback and tips, then let me know and I would be happy to help!

I measure my success by how much my student has learned and how comfortable my student is with the material. I believe in constant improvement, so I am always receptive to feedback, suggestions, and alteration of my teaching style. With a 3-hour cancellation policy, my availability is flexible and make-up study sessions are always an option!
